Aqua Design – the world leader in water camouflage, adds a new line-up to their collection of technical
fishing apparel.
According to Jerry Tlucek, President / CEO for Aqua Design, "Yes, we’re very pleased to say we’ve broken through some
barriers with our new Voyager Series fishing camo."

The shirt, wading pant (which covert to shorts with a zip), cap, boonie hat and bandana in this line have more vivid colors
and more realistic patterns – thanks to improvements in printing technology. "The Voyager Series are our stealthiest fishing
clothes ever," says Tlucek.
Since the company’s inception in 1995, the number of fishing camouflage believers has continued to grow according to the
Aqua Design. There is compelling evidence that fish see color or spectrums that allow them to distinguish various hues. "If
fish weren’t sensitive to color and patterns, I guess we’d all be tying gray-colored flies," Tlucek said. "Fish use their eyes to
find the right food (and how picky they can be), and their lives depend on good eyes to spot other creatures that want to
make a meal of them." Predators that do a good job of camouflaging their presence get in close for a quick strike to fool
prey animals. Bow hunters especially understand this and use camouflage well.
Anglers should, too. Their body’s outline is easily recognizable against the land and sky. And screaming their presence with
loud, solid-color clothing is counter-productive and can’t be good. The more anglers can render themselves invisible
through camouflage that breaks up their outline, the better chance they have of getting close to an unsuspecting fish.
The Voyager’s patterns and four new colors are based on underwater photography looking up into typical backgrounds and
light conditions encountered in freshwater and saltwater environments. Recent improvements in printing technology have
allowed Aqua Design to translate what the camera, mimicking the fish’s view, has captured over to cloth. As a result, the
water print has an enhanced depth-of-field that appears three-dimensional.
Aside from clothing as cloaking device, the company made all the pieces in the Voyager Series very useful and
comfortable. There are pockets and tool attachments strategically placed everywhere anglers really need them so they can
load up on gear. The fabric’s exceptional moisture-management properties wick perspiration and dries quickly, even if
thoroughly water-soaked. Additionally, Voyager clothing naturally blocks 97 to 99% of the sun’s rays which is good news
for any fishing enthusiast wearing the apparel. Harmful UV radiation can be magnified especially when reflected off the
water.
