Just wanted to give a quick report and say thanks to GAFF for putting together this forum and blog. Keep up the good work guys. OK, now for the report...Although the fishing has been going pretty strong around the Tampa Bay area the weather has been tough to work around. Strong Northeast winds have kept us hiding out in the backcountry and local rivers looking for cover and some protection. The fish are definately keying on the warmer water periods of the day since the last cold front. Dark bottom has been helping to keep water temperatures warm and has been something I am looking for to target my fish. One thing that the northeast wind is doing is keeping water out of the bay. This is causing our low tides to be even lower than normal, which is yielding some great opportunities for kayak and paddle fishing. I have been getting out before the tide hits its lowest point and working all the way through the beginning of the incomming. This has been producing very well as of the last week and a half. All in all its a good time to be out there when the weather cooperates. Tight lines and good fishing!!!
